* In honoring memory of all who died in the rebellion. *
----- It was dawn, yes the red star was just coming over the horizon. Rain dropped hard on my ancient locket i held in my hands with a picture of one of my ancestors from earth, handed down for so many generations. I looked over the horizon to see my loving and embracing flag, war torn with holes and blood, but a longing memory of us who are dying to be free. Tears come to my eyes as the memory of my mother being beaten before the Empress cloud my mind to the battlefield.
BOOM, everywhere rockets are exploding, but i faintly hear them as i think of the lullaby my mother sung to me before bed every night in the slave house. Everything came back to me in an instant as adrenaline rushed through my veins. I yell at the men to push forward as fighters are hitting the ground, Tanks are on fire, and pulse lasers are everywhere around us. As we advance I see a large Capital Ship entering the atmosphere above us, then i look down to see the golden city, torn apart by war and heat. I think of all the innocent people that are being hurt down there because of their faith blinding them to others who are suffering.
Almost in an instant the Republics capital ship falls onto the city, making the entire place catch up in a blaze with people screaming everywhere. We try our best to hold it together and push on through the vanguard. Somehow, we hold it together and take the city. Our tanks begin to change their energy cells, fuel up, and we begin setting up a command post in the middle of the city's main street. As i look around i see the faces of innocent people, lying there, unconscious of what was going on when the ship hit the city. I walk around the city block and find myself in one of the city's many churches where we hid our weapons secretly over the years. I find myself an old Gellente Rifle given to me by a friend and go to my commander.
" So what's the news? " I say. " We have taken the city, but at a huge loss, and i thin... "
Before he could even finish his sentence a sniper hits him in the back of the head, i look around trying to figure out whats going on as many soldiers plummet to the ground before me. Randomly it seems like the entire planet's air force is in the sky: Fighters, Drop-ships, Hovercraft, Drones, Carriers, and even the almighty Battle-cruisers made for Planetary War-Fare fill the sky.
I look down at my locket, now cracked from an explosion, and wonder... Will we win? Will slavery and tyranny ever stop? Will this ever end? My mind races, and then i hit the ground like a rock, wondering what awaits me on the other side. I fade, behind a black cloth of darkness. " Good luck brothers, may the Republic endure. "
